Visions of Silver brings to you a wide variety of handcrafted silver jewellery, created in Holmfirth – a small Pennine market town in the heart of “Last of the Summer Wine country” in West Yorkshire.
These unique and exclusive designs are the work of Paul Rothery, an experienced craftsman and silversmith, whose goal is to produce individual and bespoke pieces which exploit the properties of fine and sterling silver to bring out the beauty of the metal and ensure your jewellery is truly individual.
What is silver?
Silver is a precious metal that is mined and transformed through processing into various types & sizes of material. There are different “grades” or “fineness” of silver.
Fineness, in essence is the purity of the metal. The fineness of silver is counted by the amount of parts of silver per 1000 total parts.
Paul’s jewellery is crafted from either fine or sterling silver.
- Fine silver contains 999 parts of silver & 1 part of copper per 1000 units.
- Sterling silver contains 925 parts of silver & 75 parts of copper per 1000 units.
